Our ITB Berlin recap

This year’s ITB Berlin truly exceeded all our expectations. The Joyned team had a fantastic time at the event, networking and exchanging exciting ideas with fellow travel trailblazers.

The leading international platform for business, innovation and networking, ITB Berlin attracted close to 100,000 attendees who gathered in as many as 27 exhibition halls! The growing importance of AI in the travel sector was the focal point of many lively discussions, mirroring industry developments.

Proudly representing Joyned were Sergio Vargas Johansson, our Managing Director of Travel, Ariel Ben Shitrit, Director of Inside Sales, and Oz Erez, Senior Solutions Specialist. A big thank you to the team!

Sergio also had the pleasure of joining an expert panel discussion to talk about the power of local experiences. Together with Nicolas Martiquet from Amadeus Discover and Kate Harden-England, Travolution’s editor and panel moderator, they explored why online travel players are struggling to engage travelers when it comes to local experiences. Sergio emphasized the need to accelerate technological development in this area, as well as facilitate collaboration between friends and family – the people who really influence travel decisions.

As we reflect on the insights gained and connections forged, we would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting this year. It was yet another terrific industry event that further inspired us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in the travel industry.
